DIPLOID AND HAPLOID

  • There are two types of cell present in eukaryotes.
  1. Diploid cell
  2. Haploid cell
Diploid

  • The cells in which chromosome is in pair is called diploid cell.
Haploid

  • The cells in which chromosome is not in pair is called haploid cell.

  • The number of chromosome varies from organism to organism.
  • There are two types of cell in human body one is somatic and another one is gametic.
  • The cell which is responsible in reproduction is called gametic cell or germ cell.
  • Except gametic cell all the cells in a body is known as somatic cell.
  • In human there is 46 chromosome in somatic cell that is present in pairs that means 23 pairs of chromosome in which 22 pairs are known as autosomes and last 1 pair is sex chromosome and human somatic cell is diploid cell
  • In human there is only 23 number of chromosome present in gametic cell and that's are not present in pair so human gametic cell is haploid cell.
