- The emission of electron from metal due to falling of light on metal is known as photoelectric effect.
- First time photoelectric effect is observed by Hertz when he is doing experiment on electromagnetic wave.
- What hertz observed?
Hertz observed that when light (ultraviolet radiation) is falling on metal its get positively charged.
And we know that if any body have charge that means it gain some electron or loose some electron from it.
And if a body is positively charged that means it looses some electron.
- Hertz doesn't take this seriously or he did not explain this why how....??? this is happening.
- Then two scientist Hallwach and Lenard take it seriously and study and observe photoelectric effect for a long time.
