FERTILIZERS

  • Fertilizers are chemical substance (organic like urea and inorganic like ammonium sulphate ) which helps in healthy growth of plants and good productive.
  • The fertilizers which provide the all three minerals nitrogen , phosphorus and potassium to the plants are called complete fertilizers.
Fertilizers are used in less amount because it contains higher amount of nutrition.
  • There are four types of fertilizers:-
  1. Nitrogenous fertilizers:-  The fertilizers which provide nitrogen to the plants are known as Nitrogenous fertilizers.
    • eg:-
    • Urea
    • Ammonium sulphate
    •  Calcium ammonium nitrate
    •  Sodium nitrate
    •  Ammonium nitrate
  2. Phosphatic fertilizers:-The fertilizers which provide phosphorus to the plants are known as Phosphatic fertilizers.
    • eg:-
    • Single superphosphate
    • Triple superphosphate
    • Dicalcium phosphate.
  3. Potassic fertilizers:-The fertilizers which provide potassium to the plants are known as Potassic fertilizers.
    • eg:-
    • Muriate of potash or potassium chloride
    • Potassium sulphate
    • Potassium nitrate
  4. Complex fertilizers:-The fertilizers which provide two or more nutrients to the plants are known as  fertilizers.
