• The main theme of poultry farming is produce a large number of egg of good quality and produce more meat of good quality.
• In poultry farming there are two types of fowl are required one for laying egg of good quality and large size and they are called layers.
• Another one is boiler which are developed for meat.
• Layers should be small in size and produce egg of large size.
• Boilers should be in large size to provide more meat.
• Breeding is the best process for improving quality.
• So breeding between Indian and foreign is done for improvement in varieties like:-

1.  Number and quality of chicks will improved.
2. The parents of boiler should be dwarf for commercial chick production.
3. Have ability to to tolerance high temperature.
4.  The amount for maintenance should be low.
5. The size of layers should be small for utilize more fibrous diet.

Egg and broiler production

• For the good growth of broiler vitamin rich supplement are required.
• Care is required to reduce mortality and to maintain feathering and carcass quality.
• For poultry farming there should be take care of temperature, hygiene, nutrition etc.
• The environment and nutrition for boilers and layers are different.
• There is proper cleaning sanitizing vaccination are required for saving them from disease caused by bacteria,fungi,virus and parasites.
