ELECTRICITY

Expand EDUCATION

  • Electrical energy is the most convenient form of energy.
  • We know that energy can neither be created nor destroy. It can only change its form from one to another.
  • And if we converted any form of energy into electrical energy then we can use it in a very proper way.
  • Electricity can be defined as:- The flow of charge per unit time.
  • The electricity we use today is generally A.C current. But we have not directly discovered the A.C current. Before A.C current we have discovered the D.C current and before D.C current we have discovered the charge.
  • After the discovery of charge, we discover a technology to store charge and by storing charge we have created a battery.
  • The battery is a device that creates a potential difference.
  • The potential difference is the reason for the flow of charge and the flow of charge is the reason for electricity.

CHARGE

  • A charge is the fundamental property of any material which can be obtained by losing or gaining an electron.
  • The first time charge is observed by the people of greek.
  • There are two types of charge:- one is positive and another one is negative.
  • A body will become positively charged if it loses some electron.
  • a body will become negatively charged if it gains some electron.
  • The same charge means positive and positive or negative and negative repeal each other and opposite charge means positive and negative or negative and positive attracts each other.
  • The S.I unit of charge is the coulomb.
  • Charge always present in the quantized form that means in the multiple of smallest charge that is a charge of an electron.

ELECTRIC CURRENT

  • The rate of flow of charge is known as electric current.
  • In a solid conductor, the charge which flows is the electron which is the smallest charge we know.
  • I= Q/T
  • The S.I unit of current is Ampere.
  • Ampere can be defined as if 1 coulomb of charge flows in 1 sec then the current is said to be 1 ampere.
  • The direction of current is the opposite of the flow of electrons or we can say that in the direction of flow of positive charge.

  2. Very helpful content! Topic electricity is very important because its application is into almost everything we see in everyday life. Electricity is one of the most important commodities in modern societies. This wonderful form of energy has thousands of uses and we are all surrounded by its various applications all across ourselves. But the question is how does the energy get converted into electricity that we all are able to use. The fact is that we have become so accustomed to utilizing electricity that we cannot imagine a world without it. That is why it is essential to study electricity in its entirety. Electricity is a very important topic of Physics. The little facts, units, and definitions you shared here in compact form would be very helpful for the students in learning Physics. Thanks for sharing.
