Ohm's law states that at constant temperature current is directly proportional to the potential difference.
V∝ I
V=IR,
Here V is the potential difference
I, is electric current
R, is resistance
RESISTANCE
Resistance is the property of a material that opposes the flow of electric current.
Resistance depends upon the length of the material, the cross-section area of the material, the temperature of the material, and the properties of the material.
Resistance is directly proportional to the length of the material, which means if the length of the material is long then the resistance is high and if the length of the material is small then there is low resistance.
R∝L.....................(I)
Resistance is inversely proportional to the cross-section area of the material.
R∝1/A....................(II)
On combining equation I and II
R∝L/A
R=ρL/A
here, R is resistance
ρ is resistivity
L is the length of conductor/material
A is the cross-section area
On temperature resistance is directly proportional for conductor and inversely proportional for semiconductor.
