- MATTERS ARE FOUND IN THREE DIFFERENT STATES:-
Generally matters are found in three states:-
- SOLID STATE:- the state of substance in which it have definite shape and definite volume.
Properties of solids are:-
- Solids have high density generally.
- Solids are rigid.
- The force between particles of solid( intermolecular force) are strong.
- Generally solids have high melting points.
- There are very little space between the particles of solid.
- Liquid state:- the state of matter in which substance have definite volume and indefinite shape.
Properties of liquids are:-
- Liquid is fluid so it can flow.
- Liquid have low density in comparison with solid and high density in comparison with gas.
- The force of attraction between the particles( intermolecular force) of liquid is weak in comparison with solid and strong in comparison with gas.
- There are large space between the particles of solid in comparison with solid and small space in comparison with gases.
- Gaseous state:- the state of matter in which substance have indefinite shape and indefinite volume.
Some properties of gases are:-
- Gases have low density.
- Gases are fluids that means it can flow.
- The force between the particles of gases(intermolecular force) are weak.
- There are large space between the particles of gases.
