ENDOCYTOSIS

The intaking of molecules inside the cell through cell membrane is known as endocytosis.

There are mainly three process comes under endocytosis:-

1. Phagocytosis
2. Potocytosis
3. Receptor mediated endocytosis

Phagocytosis:- The intaking of solid particles inside the cell through plasma membrane is called Phgocytosis.

• It is a type of active transport.
• Its also know as cell eating.

Potocytosis:-The intaking of small molecules or ions inside the cell through plasma membrane is known as Potocytosis.

• It is type of active transport.
• Its also known as cell drinking.

Receptor mediated endocytosis- The intaking of macromolecules inside the cell through plasma membrane is known as Receptor mediated endocytosis.

• Its also a type of active transport.
