PLASTIDS


  • Plastids are found in almost every plant cell .
  • It is similar to mitochondria because it also have ability to self replicating and it also have their own genome(DNA) and ribosomes.
  • There are three types of plastids:-
    1. Chromoplast - It is the coloured plastid except green colour.
    2. Chloroplast - It is green coloured plastids.
    3. Leucoplast - It is colourless plastids.
Function of Plastids

  • Chloroplast helps in photosynthesis. It traps sun light and use in photosynthesis.
  • Chromoplast provide colour to the flower for attract insect for pollination.
  • Leucoplast helps helps in storage of food in the form of carbohydrates , fats and protein.
