- Plastids are found in almost every plant cell .
- It is similar to mitochondria because it also have ability to self replicating and it also have their own genome(DNA) and ribosomes.
- There are three types of plastids:-
- Chromoplast - It is the coloured plastid except green colour.
- Chloroplast - It is green coloured plastids.
- Leucoplast - It is colourless plastids.
Function of Plastids
- Chloroplast helps in photosynthesis. It traps sun light and use in photosynthesis.
- Chromoplast provide colour to the flower for attract insect for pollination.
- Leucoplast helps helps in storage of food in the form of carbohydrates , fats and protein.
