CROP PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT


After the crop selection there is management of crop production is required for better yield.

In crop production management there are 3 main things have to done :-

  1. Nutrition management
  2. Irrigation
  3. Cropping pattern.

Nutrition management
  • Plants also required nutrients for growth and these nutrients are supplied to the plant from air water and soil.
  • There are mainly 13 nutrients which are essential for plants.
  • Plants take carbon and oxygen from air and hydrogen from water.
  • Plants take 13 minerals from soil.
  • There are two types of minerals which plants obtained from soil:-
  1. Macronutrients:- The nutrients which required in more quantity for plants are called macronutrients. 
    • eg:- nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium and sulphur are 6 macronutrients.
  2. Micronutrients:- The nutrients which required in less quantity for plants are called micronutrients.
    • eg:-iron, manganese, boron, zinc, copper, molybdenum and chlorine are 7 micronutrients.
